STEP INTO MY JOURNEY
IMRAN ABUL KASHEM
Storyteller. Entrepreneur. Mentor.
I migrated to Australia in 2008 with a journalist's eye and no plan for a business career. Fifteen years and six ventures later, I help people build a personal brand worth remembering.
And I'm always looking for the next partnership.

From Garage to Six Businesses
PODCAST
My Migrant Soul
I started this podcast because I couldn't find one that told the story I lived — what it actually takes to rebuild a life, and a career, somewhere new. Every episode is a real conversation with someone who's done it.
WHAT I DO
Six ventures. One vision.
Each business exists because I couldn't find what I needed, so I built it.
Westend Photography
Started in a garage in 2013. Now the same lens behind headshots, brand shoots, and the photo essays that ran in The Australian and SBS.
Westend Business Hub
Desks, meeting rooms, and a community of west-Melbourne founders who actually talk to each other.
My Migrant Soul Podcast
Conversations with migrants rebuilding their lives, hosted by someone who's done it.
WE Connect
The monthly meetup where I've watched strangers become business partners.
Westend Plants
Office and home plants, sourced and styled, no green thumb required.
Westend Digital
Websites, SEO, and social media for small businesses, built by people who run small businesses too.
If one of these sparked an idea for a partnership, I want to hear it.
BOOKS
Stories worth telling
Three photography books — Green Wedge, Same/Different, and the streets of Werribee documented one frame at a time. Grant-funded, publicly exhibited, still available.
ABOUT IMRAN ABUL KASHEM
The person behind the ventures
I was a journalist in Bangladesh before I migrated to Australia in 2008. Westend Photography started as one camera and a garage in 2013; it's since grown into six businesses covering photography, workspace, digital marketing, plants, events, and a podcast. Most of what I've built exists because I went looking for it first and couldn't find it.
